Coffee nerds, chemists, enthusiasts, lovers.
All of the above — that’s us.
Around our shop you’ll notice a chemical compound printed on our cups and across the floor. But caffeine is just one of more than 1,000 chemical compounds in coffee (and was intended to act as a pest repellent by nature, protecting the growing coffee plant).
The pursuit of the God Shot (a term that describes the perfect shot of Espresso) is what drives us, on the Espresso machine as well as in our manual brews. Every coffee we chose to work with tells us what it needs in order to shine, and as Baristas, we listen. From grind size, dose, mineral content in water, brew temperature, technique, tool and ratios - we walk the line of learned skill and trust in the process.
And all starts with beans that excite us: sourced from roasters that have personal relationships with farmers at origin, or are sourced directly from farms we visited, often processed experimentally and most importantly, paid fairly.
It’s sad but true, Covid and its aftermath stopped our in-house Slow Bar service (for now). The good news is we heard your requests for more private and online home brewing classes, and we listened.
Announcing our newest addition to the family: Point of Brew Workshops, (think of it as a science driven, yoga practicing sister to Sweet Science), focussed entirely on coffee education and mindful brewing!
Check out some of the tools we use below, but there is so much more to extract!
