Welcome to Sweet Science Coffee Academy!

Elevate your barista skills from novice to expert with our comprehensive online courses. Our curriculum is a one of a kind combination of hands-on barista training and University level knowledge about coffee production and chemistry, gained during our post graduate studies in Coffee Excellence at the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich, Switzerland. Our aim is to educate consumers and enable professionals to speak about their product with confidence and represent their craft with pride.  

Our courses are a hybrid of on-demand video and written lessons with trainer feedback, and live online lab sessions for our certification course. 

We are the only online coffee school offering a learning experience that includes freshly roasted and curated practice coffees shipped to your door!    

We offer three course levels -     

Explorer: Home Barista. This course is for beginners who want to lay a solid foundation for brewing great coffee at home.

In a fun combination of on-demand videos and written lessons you'll gain mastery over your coffee routine, freeing you from the endless online search for the perfect recipe. You'll learn to create your own signature brews, one delightful cup at a time.

Creator: Advanced Home Barista and entry level professional Baristas.   

Want to level up your pour over game or become a barista? This course equips you with the tools, techniques and brewing chemistry knowledge you need to brew and develop recipes with confidence. Includes an optional quiz and homework in order to obtain a certificate. You will be able to brew with and educate customers about coffee with confidence.  

Academy Masterclass: The all-in certification program for baristas and shop owners who want to build / manage and / or run a Slow Bar experience and teach consumer classes. Available as a package for teams. This program combines hands-on advanced Barista training and cutting edge research in coffee chemistry that is taught at University level.
