This coffee from the Sidama region in East Africa is special in more than the typical specialty coffee sense of the word. There are 124 wild Coffea Arabica species known to date, most originate from what today is called Ethiopia. The beans we have here are Heirloom varieties that belong to a very diverse and largely unclassified gene pool of indigenous Arabica cultivars. If this all sounds a bit too nerdy, here's the essence: You know coffee and maybe you've had one from this region before, but you still get something unique each time.
We selected this coffee for our spring lineup because of its' complex, vibrant and elegant profile and sweet, boozy undertone. We experience Yasmin aroma, peach, lemon and brown sugar with a tea-like quality and medium body. This coffee truly shines on a pour over device like Chemex or Origami and works well for filter methods.
