Great Coffee needs only one thing: A conscious consumer willing to explore and enjoy. It doesn’t take much time, in fact, it’s the opposite - it gives us time to think and connect with others and ourselves.

● About Us ●

We Are Sweet Science Coffee

We are a neighborhood craft coffee shop located in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington DC. Some of you may remember Sweet Science Coffee from our days as a one-woman pop-up specializing in manual brews in a shared space in artsy Adams Morgan.
That the shop was most likely the tiniest cafe in the DMV (330sf) only helped create an experience of true human contact over coffee. The vision: To educate and to entertain with huge flavor, eight different brewing methods and hands-on classes. A coffee tree needs to be nurtured five years before its first harvest and even though it was not planned, we too had to grow slowly, consistently and with a clear goal for five years until we could proudly open our first brick and mortar shop in NoMa in January 2020.
Our menu is about experiencing coffee with no artificial flavorings, our aim is to highlight each coffees’ character and create fun, out of the box seasonal drinks, paired with made from scratch pastries.
Ultimately, our mission is to be your neighborhood nerd headquarters for all things coffee.

Trust The Process

Is Specialty Coffee really so special? The best one is the one you like, that’s it.

Yet, it is good to know where your coffee comes from and how many steps it went through to make it to us, and then you. Cultivating Coffee is a 20 - 30 year commitment for a farmer because it needs special growing conditions and plenty of time and care. So you might have been a kid when the tree was planted that now grows the beans you
enjoy as your morning cup of Joe. Pretty special huh?

Our baristas have the skills and knowledge to heighten your coffee-drinking experience — whether it’s helping you choose your favorite Origin, making those cute Swans on your Latte that make you smile, or teaching you how to brew the best cup in one of our classes, we are passionate about sharing our love for coffee with the world.
